Learn to Pray
Monday through Friday from 8 am – 9 am, the St. Paul’s chapel is open for prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament. At 8:55 am, we gather together for the official prayer of the Church called, The Liturgy of the Hours or the Divine Office. There are copies of the Liturgy of the Hours in the chapel, all are welcome to pray the Liturgy of the Hours with the priests of St. Paul’s.
Silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place every Wednesday from 1 pm to 8:30 pm.
The atmosphere is very beautiful because of the presence of Jesus, visible to us in the Sacred Host. The Resurrected Body of Jesus in heaven, but, by His divine power, He makes Himself present here and now in a veiled way in the sacred sign of bread.
The goal of prayer is to converse with God. The atmosphere of silence is very helpful, but it will also be good to bring your Bible. Begin to pray by reading slowly the scriptures (especially the Gospels), pausing on what strikes you and lifting your eyes to the Sacred Host.
