A Look Into Second Semester
Following a beautiful first semester and a restful winter break, students are back on campus at UW-Madison! Here at Saint Paul’s we are looking forward to an impactful and busy second semester.
The mission at Saint Paul’s is run by our two priests, 17 interns, and 6 FOCUS missionaries. With the help of many student leaders, our ministry team is able to come into personal contact with 5,000 students each semester. Each ministry highlights one of their events of this semester!
Freshmen Ministry: A highlight of second semester is transitioning our co-ed FYGs into single sex Bible studies! We are also looking forward to our end of the year freshmen formal with everyone has been involved throughout the year.
Liturgy: We are really looking forward to our liturgies over the Triduum. Our choir is preparing beautiful pieces and we are especially looking forward to our Mass of the Last Supper, Good Friday Service and Easter Vigil!
Hospitality Team: Our Hospie team had 40 people come to cook our Newman Dinner this past week! With more people in the kitchen, we are excited to add some more complex recipes to our menus.
Retreats: Winter Retreat is upon us! We have 240 people signed up for our biggest retreat of the year. It will be our biggest retreat ever!
Service: Following 5 successful service trips over January we are excited to bring a spirit of service to our local community through volunteering!
Outreach: We are looking forward to inviting more people into discipleship and Bible study this semester by getting out on campus and letting students know how loved they are by Christ!
Greek: Our Greek Life Apostolate, Chi Rho, will be meeting each month with small groups happening weekly!
OCIA: Currently there are over 130 students interested in becoming Catholic this Easter – we are so excited to walk with them through the next few months as they prepare to receive the sacraments at Easter!
Housing: As students have returned to campus we are excited to continue our formation at each of the Catholic houses!
Grad/YP: We are looking forward to hosting an event with other parishes around Madison to bring together all of the young adults in our broader community.
Alpha Omega (AO): Our Thursday night speaker series after Newman Dinner has a great lineup for 2026. We are really looking forward to having Fr. John Burns and Sister Miriam talking back to back weeks during Lent!
Wine Fest: Our 15th annual fundraiser will be held at the Kohl Center this year! We are very excited to hold our program at such an iconic Badger location. Register at www.uwcatholic.org/SWF
