Grad/YP Spring Retreat: New Life in Christ
April 23 - April 24
Our lives this past year have been marked by pain, anxiety, and maybe even loss. As St. John Paul II said, “We do not pretend that life is all beauty. We are aware of darkness and sin, of poverty and pain. But we know Jesus has conquered sin and passed through his own pain to the glory of the Resurrection. And we live in the light of his Paschal Mystery – the mystery of his Death and Resurrection.” ‘We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!’”
And so let us be “imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love.” (Eph: 1-2). Let our lives be modeled after Christ, listening to the Holy Spirit, relying on grace, living the beatitudes, imploring God’s mercy for our sins, practicing virtue, loving God with our whole being and loving our neighbor as ourselves, and remaining in union with Christ’s Body, the Church.
We hope you leave this weekend able to leave behind some of the baggage you may have picked up in the past year, whether it be cynicism, anxiety, loneliness, or something else, and that you go forward inspired and committed to live a life more deeply rooted in God, to a new life in Christ.
